Most of the NI acquisition cards cannot be directly connected to the acoustic emission sensor, instead of connecting preamplifier between NI and sensor. One of the reasons is that the voltage signal output by the acoustic emission sensor is too small and the impedance is too high, and the NI acquisition card cannot read the effective signal.

According to the input frequency range of NI acquisition card, one of the solutions is selected to make the signal acquisition with large dynamic range effective.

  • Solution 1 is connecting an independent PAS preamplifier between general sensor and NI data acquisition card; PAS preamplifier is equipped with an adapter to provide the working power required by the preamplifier.

  • Solution 2 is connecting PPS between built-in preamplifier sensor and NI. PPS is equipped with an adapter to provide the working power required by the preamplifier.
