GENERAL PURPOSE SENSORS

General purpose AE sensors are also called “resonant AE sensors”. They have narrow responding frequency band but very high sensitivity and high signal-to-noise ratio. Resonant sensors are very suitable for source locations and analysis within a known frequency range. They are cheap, common to use and various in all sizes and types. Resonant sensors don’t have preamplifier built-in so they are usually required external preamplifier connected to the output of the sensors.
