On-line Acoustic Emission Detection of Storage Tank in Special Oil Company

There was the online acoustic emission detection of the vault storage tank in the Special Oil Company station. The type of storage tank was the external arch roof storage tank. The volume of the storage tank was 10,000 cubic meters. The diameter was 27.75 meters. The effective height was 14.8 meters. The storage medium was crude oil. The safe liquid level was 12.5 meters. The initial liquid level was 17.8 meters. The tank wall was coated with anti-corrosion paint and there were thermal insulation board and metal iron sheet protection board.

The equipment used in this test was the SAEU3H-12 acoustic emission detector developed by Qingcheng Company (Beijing SoundWel Technology Co., LTD.). The acoustic emission system had 12 acoustic emission input channels, which could be expanded by increasing the number of chassis or acquisition cards when needed, with an input impedance of 50 ohms, frequency response of each channel: 3kHz-2500kHz, maximum signal amplitude: 100dB, the sampling frequency was 769K ~ 10MS/adjustable, A/D resolution was 16 bits.

9 of SR40M sensors were used, with a frequency range of 15kHz ~ 70kHz, The preamplifier was PAI with the frequency range 10KHz ~ 2.5MHz and the gain of 40dB.
