November 5-8, 2019, World Conference on acoustic emission- 2019, referred to as wcae-2019) was held in Guangzhou. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Shen Gongtian, President of the conference, honorary president of the International Acoustic Emission society, President of the nondestructive testing branch of the Chinese society of mechanical engineering and vice president of the Chinese Institute of special equipment testing, and Gary, President of the International Acoustic Emission society and former chairman of the American acoustic emission working group (aewg) Professor Qi, Mr. Hartmut vallen, former chairman of the European acoustic emission Commission (ewgae), Professor Tomoki shiotani, chairman of the International Institute of acoustic emission innovation (iiiae) and Executive Committee of the Japanese acoustic emission Commission (JCAE), delivered welcome speeches. 108 representatives from 13 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Austria, South Korea and China attended the meeting.
